Hello! This week’s Painted visit is to the Petite Côte region of Senegal, which includes the sandy shores south of Dakar all the way to the Sine-Saloum Delta. Let’s visit some of these beach towns this week.
Sobo Bade is a hotel located in Toubab Dialaw. Its artistic facade is coupled with its mosaicked sculptures overlooking the beach, like in the illustration above. For the girl on the left, her outfit is the Rabia set, available from Sassy Chic Boutique in Dakar.
The area’s coastline is home to a number of fishing villages. You’ll find Senegal’s characteristic pirogues, perfect for the catch of the day.
The salt wells of Palmarin, in the Sine-Saloum Delta, are found in various colors. Above is an aerial view of just a tiny section. You’ll find shades of vermilion, mustard, bright oranges, blues, and greens! It’s an incredible display of nature.
Hope you liked this week’s visit! We are visiting Dakar next week before heading to the next country! See you soon,
Denise
